On the 14th of October, members of staff and management of VFD Group gathered at the beautiful Omu Resort for the third quarterly bonding event of the year.
At the start of the event, everyone was divided into four teams, each team represented by a color. We had the Yellow, Red, Green, and Blue teams.
The games kicked off with a round of charades, which ended in a draw by the Red, Blue and Green teams.
Next up was a quick game of puzzle. The teams had limited time to assemble pieces of torn up cards. In less than a minute, the Green team came out victorious.
Having had enough of table games, we moved to the field where we started off with a game of hula hoop pass. This was equal parts fun, and equal parts exerting, with the Red team sealing the win.
At this point, the Games Master challenged all the teams for a sack race. In a four-man relay sack race, team Yellow came first, beating the other teams by only a few seconds.
The air was filled with excitement and brimming with competition as the final game was announced, a tug of war.
In the first round, the Blue team went against the Green team and won. In the second round, the Green team went against the Red team, and lost. For 3rd place, the Green and Yellow teams went against each other, with the Yellow team coming out victorious.
For the coveted 1st place, the Red and Blue teams went up against each other, in an intense tug of war, with the Red team emerging as the champions of the game.
The Red team couldn’t contain their excitement and treated us to a victory dance.
This marked the end of the games and the beginning of lunch. There was a lot to eat and drink courtesy of Toyin, our lunchtime favorite, who is also a member of the Sales Unit.
After lunch, we all spread out across the resort to take part in the various activities that were made available to us including: roller-coasters, horseback riding, quad biking, kart racing, swimming, paint balling, slides & swings, animal watching, and lots more.
As we look forward to our next bonding event, we say a big thank you to Management, and the Q3 planning committee for an awesome experience.
